Howard McClain of Cook County announced his candidacy Tuesday for Superior Court Judge of the Alapaha Judicial Circuit. McClain will be seeking the seat currently held by Judge Brooks Blitch.

“My years of practicing law and serving as a municipal court judge in this circuit have honed my sense of the fundamental need for our courts to be operated with fairness and integrity,” said McClain. “In the coming months and years, our judicial circuit faces many challenges and I will apply my knowledge and experience to insure that the business of the courts is conducted with integrity, impartially, according to law and in an atmosphere that is respectful to all of the participants. That is the reason I am announcing my candidacy for Superior Court Judge of the Alapaha Judicial Circuit.”

McClain and his wife Carolyn have three children. McClain has practiced law and has served as city attorney, county attorney and municipal court Judge in several jurisdictions in the Alapaha Circuit for over 25 years.

McClain has been active in several local community organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce, Valdosta Technical College and Adel Memorial Hospital.

McClain and his wife are members of First Baptist Church in Adel.
