Fans of Valdosta High and Lowndes High football should remember there will be shortened ticket-sale hours for this week's playoff games due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

n Tickets for the Valdosta-Houston County game (8 p.m. Friday, Bazemore-Hyder Stadium) will go on sale at 1 p.m. today to season-ticket holders. Those ticket holders have until noon Wednesday to claim their tickets. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Tickets are $8 in advance, $9 at the game. Student tickets are $5 and will be available at the middle schools and the high school.

Ticket office hours will be 1-5 p.m. today, 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday. The office, located in the Valdosta City Schools' building on Williams Street, will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday.

n Tickets for the Lowndes-Camden County game (7:30 p.m. Friday, Kingsland) should go on sale beginning with tonight's Viking Touchdown Club meeting, pending delivery of the Lowndes allotment.

Tickets will be on sale Tuesday and Wednesday (9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Friday morning (9 a.m-noon) at the ticket office, located in the Lowndes County Schools' building on Norman Drive. It will also be closed Thursday for Thanksgiving.

Viking fans are asked to purchase their tickets in advance to assure a seat for the game. When the two teams met earlier this year at Camden County, Camden's fans overflowed into the visitors' seating area.

VSU boosters to eat, meet today

The Valdosta State athletic boosters will hold their usual weekly luncheon at noon today at the University Center. The meal is $7.
