WARNER ROBINS — Lowndes High’s girls basketball team improved to 13-3 overall and 4-2 in Region 1-AAAAA, beating Warner Robins 49-37 Friday night.

Kiera Peak scored a game-high 24 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. Abrielle Clemons scored 15 points (eight in the first quarter) and Amanda Harper grabbed eight rebounds.

Lowndes’ boys fell behind Warner Robins by 19 midway through the third, and that deficit proved to be too big a hole to climb out of. The Vikings cut the deficit to seven points in the fourth quarter, but the Demons hung on to win, 73-60.

Robert Powell scored 17 points for the Vikings, while Brian Moore added 16.

The Vikings (7-10, 1-5) and the Vikettes host Tift County tonight, starting at 6 p.m. The games can be heard on 106.9 FM.
