The Lowndes High baseball team opened its season with a pair of wins as the Vikings took down St. Francis and North Gwinnett in a doubleheader Saturday at Noel George Field. The Vikings beat the Knights 5-4 in the 1 p.m. opener, then defeated the Bulldogs 4-1 later in the afternoon. The Vikings face crosstown rival Valdosta Tuesday at Bazemore Field.
