Thanks to CiCi's Pizza for letting us have our daughter's birthday party on Oct. 2 and thanks to her special aunt for planning the party.

The complaint about having property taxes due a month earlier is that you are paying for 12 months in an 11 month time span and next year, you will also be paying for 12 months. So one of these months is being paid for twice.

A sincere thank you to the officer at the airport who asked if I was going to move my car because it was in a tow away zone and to the young man who cheerfully lifted luggage in the trunk of the car for us. Thank you.

I am so grateful that you print Charley Reese and Molly Ivins columns. They are two of the few who actually point out all the lies of the Bush administration. Thank you for being courageous enough to print their articles.

I am a Democrat because I am a Christian.

It is ridiculous that the Lowndes County citizens cannot get their cable bill reduced also. Come on, Lowndes County, let's call our commissioners so they can get our cable bills reduced also. After all, it is an election year.

What's up with the Georgia Power Company being closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m. Several people drove up to pay their bills; how metro is that? Valdosta is still a country town.

Mediacom is unjust and have area residents over a barrel. We called the number and were told anyone with a 31602 zip code gets a reduction. Being in our 70s, we were told to go to the main office with driver's license and ID and we will receive another reduction. The main office said we live in the county and don't qualify for anything. Discrimination is what we call it.

Big thanks to Ron who works for Colson Printing Company for helping a stranded lady on Hwy. 41 North. Thanks for helping me get out of that problem.

Someone wants to know why drivers can't use the turn lanes. I want to know why they can't use their lights when it's dark or why they can't use their dimmer switch when they see a car coming? I am tired of being blinded by idiots that don't have the courtesy to dim their lights.

I would like to rave about a waitress, L.A. who works at the Huddle House on Northside. My husband and I weren't feeling good but we felt better after meeting her last Saturday. Thank you.

Congratulations to the Lowndes High Georgia Bridgemen for winning the Best In Show for Danceline, Colorguard, and Percussion, and last but not least, the Grand Champion trophy, at the Invitational competition in Sylvester.
