NASA's goal now is to send humans back to the moon by 2018. Thirteen years? It took only nine years to get to the moon in the 60's when technology wasn't even near what it is today. Are we backtracking?
For the person who wants to do away with both political parties, we would no longer be a democratic republic, but a socialistic republic. You know, like the USSR was. Both parties are corrupt, but there is no effective system to replace them.
I am disabled and have been all my life but have not found it unfair or discriminatory to have to use a Georgia ID card to vote. Why are people making an issue over this?
I 'm a conservative and I definitely do not own a Lexus or Hummer. I don't know many conservatives that could even afford a nanny.
T oday is a beautiful fall day, the sun is shining, my children are healthy and happy, I have a job, I have friends and family that I love and that love me, I live in a free country where I am safe, I love my husband, God is good. Just for today, embrace all the good things in your life and don't complain.
I wonder how people are supposed to stand on their own two feet and conserve gas when our country's infrastructure was built for automobiles. I want to save gas. Am I then supposed to hitch up the mule and wagon? What road will I use? And is it okay if the mule uses the sidewalks? Because there is at least one driver that wants to mow down bicycles, so I can only imagine what he's going to do when he sees me and my mule.
I f our country wants to move into energy efficiency, we must plan ahead. We cannot leave it up to individuals to build engines or train tracks or bus routes. Our economy does not work that way. We pay taxes for our roads, bridges, and Amtrak gets a subsidy. We've been subsidizing farm allotments for years, how about subsidizing some better energy technology?
The person who wants us to stand on our own two feet when it comes to conserving gas must be retired. I have to drive 60 miles round-trip to get to my job. I can carpool, but that is about it. I can't find a hybrid vehicle big enough to hold all the supplies I need for my work. My house cannot run on anything except electricity. I would like to be self-sufficient, but like most Americans, I do not live within walking distance of work and no longer use candles and whale oil to light my home.
It's hard not to expect the government to hold your hand. I mean the government's hand is right there, so close, in your wallet, or purse.
