REMERTON — A man has locked himself into a residence following what started as a domestic dispute, according to authorities.
The man is "barricaded" in a residence at the corner of Victory and Myrtle, according to authorities.
He has reportedly threatened to harm himself and others, Lowndes County Sheriff Ashley Paulk said.
Authorities are trying to persuade the man to surrender.
Lowndes County sheriff's deputies, Remerton and Valdosta police officers and a SWAT-type tactical unit are at the scene, according to Valdosta Daily Times reporters.
