Woman faces cocaine charges after being stopped in stolen car

VALDOSTA — Cocaine was found after authorities stopped a Valdosta woman driving a stolen vehicle last week, according to Valdosta Police Department reports released Friday.

Zarquetta Crudup, 23, was arrested on a charge of possession of cocaine, according to VPD reports.

The incident occurred 1 p.m., July 3, after VPD detectives found cocaine in a stolen vehicle traveling the 2400 block of Deborah Drive.

VPD reports said the arrest was made at the 1000 block of East Park Avenue.

The owner of the vehicle had reported it stolen but did not want to prosecute the suspect, so no charges were filed related to the vehicle, according to the police report.

“This is an example of how drug use can lead to other crimes and cause people to act outside of their normal character,” VPD Lt. Scottie Johns said.
