The cast and crew of Valdosta Middle School's 'Dracula: The Death of Nosferatu.'

VALDOSTA — Valdosta Middle School Players will be taking “Dracula: The Death of Nosferatu” to state one-act play competition in November.

VMS Players came in second place for its first regional one-act competition this past weekend, placing behind Carver Middle School and ahead of Morgan City Middle School.

Valdosta Middle’s “Dracula” also won best special effects, best all-star cast members for VMS’s Nadine Fares and Jacquavian Walker.

Hannah Findlay won best actress in the competition for her portrayal of a female Renfield in “Dracula.”

VMS Players will now take playwright Christopher Nichols’ stage adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” to state competition on Nov. 14 in Monroe.

This was Valdosta Middle School’s first time in regional one-act competition. VMS Players is one of the only middle school theatre programs in South Georgia. Valdosta Middle hosted the regional competition this past Saturday at Valdosta High School’s Performing Arts Center.
