VALDOSTA – St. John the Evangelist Catholic School hosts an open house later this month.
Educating youth from pre-K 3 to eighth grade, St. John hosts the open house, 3-5 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 800 Gornto Road, school officials said.
The private school, accredited by AdvancED, offers a curriculum including STEAM-focused courses, a variety of exploratory classes, as well as extra-curricular activities and sports. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
“The difference between St. John Catholic School and other schools in the area is our community and focus on challenging academic standards,” said Vito Pellitteri, principal. “Teachers, staff, parents and students form a unique bond here, encouraging and supporting one another to soar. The feeling here at SJCS is unlike any other school.”
Open house visitors will learn more about the school’s STEAM program, educational standards and programs available to potential students, ask questions and tour the campus, school officials said.
Enrollment for the 2019-20 school year is open with classes beginning Aug. 12.
