EDITOR'S NOTE: Randall Godfrey, a former Lowndes High and Georgia football player, had seven tackles in Tennessee's 31-23 loss to Miami Sunday night. Here are his thoughts about this past weekend of football as told Monday to Russell Edmunds.

Q: On Sunday night's loss:

A: I thought we played with great effort. On defense we gave up big plays. On offense, we couldn't put points on the board -- we showed great effort but we can't give up big plays like long passes.

Q: On losing at home:

A: It hurt, it;s disappointing especially for the first game. Any team is capable of beating us if we don't play up to our standards. We have to play harder to get to where we need to be.

Q: On this week's game, at home vs. Cincinnati:

A: We have to rebound and show the nation why the Titans are the best team. We have to start early and prove that we are the best team in the NFL.

Q: On Head Coach Jeff Fisher:

A: He just told us not to think just because we're playing home that we are guaranteed a win. We have to correct our mistakes. He told us not to panic, it's early in the year.

Q: Your condition the day after the game:

A: I'm banged up, brusied ribs and a bruised elbow. I'll be riding the bike a little and sitting in the tub a while.

Q: On Georgia's loss to South Carolina:

A: I lost bets to Eddie Robinson and Greg Favors. As Buldogs we didn't make good plays. I like our game plan and think we showed a great effort. I like Coach (Mark) Richt's football style.

Q: On the Lowndes High Vikings:

A: I want our guys to keep up the effort. I support both teams and wish them both good seasons!

Q: On Quincy Carter:

A: I thought the Cowboys had a chance to win. He has to keep developing. He is in a tough position. Many have given up on the Cowboys this year but I think they'll win some games with Quincy getting the job done.

Q: On this past year's football camp in Valdosta:

A: We had a nice turnout and I appreciate the community's support. I thank all the people that helped make it come together.

I want to say hello to all my friends and relatives at home. Thanks for supporting Titan football and please keep watching.
