Roylee Charles Bowden

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Roylee Charles Bowden, 61, the owner of a map publishing company, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Bowden of Tallahassee. The service will be held at 1 p.m. EDT Saturday in Oak Hill Cemetery, located on North Highland Street off Hwy. 84 East in Quitman. Family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. EDT Friday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. A native of Perry, he spent his childhood there and in Quitman. He published maps for 32 years throughout Georgia, Florida and Alabama for chambers of Commerce, banks and Realtors. Included among his maps at the Library of Congress is one in which he took special pride. It is a map of Plains, Ga., published during Jimmy Carter's campaign for president. He served in the 101st Airborne out of Fort Campbell, Ky., and was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church. Other survivors include three sons, Roylee Bowden Jr. and Kenneth Bowden of Tallahassee and Rick Kadhum of Athens, Ga.; two daughters, Jennifer Floyd of Tallahassee and Amy Bowden of New Smyrna Beach; five brothers, Michael Bowden of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Bill Bowden, Melvin Bowden, Robert Bowden and Van Bowden of Perry; six grandchildren; and cousins Louise Snow of Quitman and Lillian and Richard Boyd and John Gay of Albany, Ga. Rev. Jesse B. Castleberry

TIFTON -- The Rev. Jesse B. Castleberry, 76, of Tifton (formerly of Lowndes Co.) died June 30, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center after a short illness. He was born on July 28, 1925, in Colquitt County to the late John Jerry and Ida Mae Norman Castleberry. He lived most of his life in Berrien County and Lowndes County the past 15 years. He was a retired Baptist Minister and an Army veteran of WWII. He is preceded in death by two brothers, John Henry Castleberry and Alvin J. "Buck" Castleberry. He is survived by his wife, Latrelle Strickland Castleberry of Tifton; three sons and daughter-in-law, Gene and Wilmer Castleberry of Tifton, Stanley C. Folsom of Orlando, Fla., Jimmy and Patricia Folsom of Panama City, Fla.; two daughters, Sue Hart of Tifton and Kathy Hubbard of Valdosta; 10 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; two brothers, Harvey Castleberry of Moultrie, Leroy Castleberry, Norman Park; and three sisters, Nellie Selph, Omega, Novella Bennett, Tifton, and Francis Sellers of Moultrie. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Ousley Baptist Church, Lowndes County with the Rev. Dillard Ensley, the Rev. Calvin Bobo, and the Rev. Leland Strickland officiating. VALDOSTA -- Matthew Ertlschweiger, 15, of Valdosta died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born at Moody Air Force Base on June 11, 1987, and was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church. Matthew is survived by his parents, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Herman "Hap" and Sandra Ertlschweiger of Valdosta; special caregivers, Donald and Betty Louise Tyree of Valdosta; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jennifer Ertlschweiger and Gabe Vera of Karlsruhe, Germany and Lindsey Baker of Valdosta; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Justin and Molly Baker of Augusta, Marcus and Martin Ertlschweiger of Valdosta; paternal grandparents, Herman and Jeanette Ertlschweiger of Quincy, Pa.; maternal grandparents, Minnie Lee and George Wesley Funderburke of Albany; niece, Josie Dodd; and nephew, Alex Vera. Lake Park-- Omar "Manny" Emanuel Orta-Martinez, infant son of Omar Orta-Martinez and Sara Ann Orta-Martinez (Drew) of Lake Park passed away Monday evening, July 1, 2002, at his residence. Survivors include his maternal grandmother, Joy Drew of Jennings, Fla.; maternal grandfather, Troy Drew, Sr. of Fryeburg, Maine; paternal grandmother, Cruz Orta-Martinez, Lake Park; paternal grandfather, Benjamin Orta-Hernandez, Lake Park; God parents, Victor and Rosalua Rodriguez of Lake Park; three uncles, Brian Drew, Fryeburg, Maine, Troy "T.J." Drew, Jr., Fryeburg, Maine, Julio Jorge Orta-Martinez, Lake Park; great grandparents, Robert and Marion Cole of Jennings, Fla. Citha G. Browning, 88, of Lakeland, Ga. passed away Wednesday afternoon July 3, 2002 in Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center. She was born in Cookville, Tenn. and had lived in Lakeland most of her life. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Music Funeral Services of Lakeland.
