Robert Lee Milton
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Robert Lee Milton, 77, of Jacksonville, passed away on Wednesday, March, 13, 2002, at his home. He was born in Jasper, Fla. on July 3, 1924, and was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Jasper High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-1946. He was preceded in death by a son, John Osborne Milton. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Mitchell Milton, Jacksonville, Fla.; one son, Glenn Forrest Milton (Martha); two grandchildren, Sarah Joslin and John Curtis Milton, both of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; one brother, Charles Baynard Milton, Jasper, Fla. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, just prior to the 11 a.m. service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Community Hospice of Northeast, Fla., Inc. 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32257. Mother Mabel Sherman Sanders
VALDOSTA -- Mother Mabel Sherman Sanders, of 822 Bethune St., entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 11, 2002, at her home. She was born in Lowndes County to the late Mr. and Mrs. E.P.H. Sherman. She was the widow of the late J.H. Sanders. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Day Spring Baptist Church where she served until her health began to fail. Mother Mabel Sherman Sanders will be greatly missed by her family and church family. She leaves to mourn her passing one son, John Sanders, and wife, Fannie, of California; one sister, Ida Mae Sherman of Atlanta; one special nephew, Benjamin (Regina) Hunter of Valdosta; two sisters-in-law, Mattie Rentz of Valdosta, and Nettie Pettyford of Tifton; and many other nieces and nephews. Sleep on Mother Sanders and take your rest -- you have fought a good fight and now rest in peace. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Dayspring Baptist Church, located at 617 Dasher Lane. The Rev. B.T. Rose will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
