Leone Newland

OMAHA, Neb. -- Leone Newland, 79, was a lifelong resident of Omaha, Neb. She is preceded in death by her husband, Guy Newland. She is survived by her children, Karon K. Yeatman of Valdosta, Richard R. Teeters of Sacramento, Calif, Marsha M. Chambers of Red Oak, Iowa; adult children, Guy and Rex Newland, both of Omaha, Neb.; also survived by 14 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Brawn of Greenbay, Wis.; brother, Sonny Henry of Clarksville, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Boyd E. Braman Mortuary, 1702 N. 72nd St., Omaha, Neb. Burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery. Hattie Hand

RAY CITY -- Hattie Hand, 82, of Ray City, died Sunday July 8, 2001, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on April 22, 1919, in Berrien County to Thomas and Rachel Fender Richardson. She was a homemaker and attended Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by five sisters, Vashti Gurganious, Della Eatmon, Mavis Hughes, Addie McKinnon, Aline Howell; and two brothers, Marcus Richardson, and Terrell Richardson. She is survived by J.C. Hand of Ray City; one daughter, Betty Gulley of Ray City; two sons, Wayne Hand, Ray City, Jimmy Hand of Adel; five grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Junior Swain officiating. Burial will be held in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. this evening with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. -- Lovein Funeral Home

Jeanne Thurber Smith

WHITE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Jeanne Thurber Smith, 79, of White Springs, Fla. passed away Sunday, July 8, 2001, at her home following an extended illness. The St. Cloud, Fla. native was a homemaker. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Norman W. Smith, Jr. (Cheryl), Winter Park, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Ashley M. Smith. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Riverside Cemetery in White Springs, Fla. -- Harry T. Reid Funeral Home


Milton Radney of Hahira passed away July 9, 2001, at Lake Haven Nursing Home in Valdosta. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. -- Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
