VALDOSTA -- Police are seeking three males who forcibly entered an apartment and attacked the resident late Thursday evening.

Lt. Brian Childress, public information for the Valdosta Police Department, said they received a call at about 11:45 p.m. Thursday from an apartment complex in the 1500 block of East Park Avenue that a 20-year-old man had been attacked by three unknown men. Childress said the victim told officers he was sitting in his apartment when the three men forcibly entered the sliding glass door.

The victim reported that one of the men struck him in the face with a stick, and another brandished a weapon. He told officers that he feared for his life and tried to leave through a window.

"He told us he fled the apartment, entered another residence and the girl there called 911," Childress said. "We have assigned a detective to the case."

Police are asking that anyone with information call the Valdosta Police Department at (229) 293-3145. If you wish to remain anonymous, call the Crime Tip Line at (229) 293-3091.
