- GSP probes five wrecks in Clinch
The Georgia State Patrol at Waycross announced that five traffic accidents in Clinch County were investigated in December. These accidents resulted in four injuries.
In the area of enforcement by Post 22, Sgt. 1st Class Robert Phillips said his troopers had made 75 arrests and issued 58 warnings during the month.
- Legal assistance available for seniors
A representative from the South Georgia Elderly Legal Assistance Program will be at the following locations:
-Ray City Senior Citizens Center, 106 Patten Ave., Highway 129 North, at 11:15 a.m. Jan. 19
- Echols County Nutrition Site, located on Church Street, at 10 a.m. Jan. 20
- Lowndes County Nutrition Site, 900 S. Troup St., at 11 a.m. Feb. 2
The representative will be available before and after the program for walk-in appointments or questions.
The Elderly Legal Assistance Program is sponsored by the Southeast Georgia RDC Area Agency On Aging, with funding provided primarily through the Older Americans Act from the Georgia Department of Human Resources, so there is no charge for this service.
