Cox seeks students for advisory council
State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox is looking for a few high school students to be part of her 2004-05 Student Advisory Council.
Members of the council will meet with Cox four times a year to discuss the effects decisions made at the state level are having on individual students throughout the state. Council members will act as liaisons providing feedback on important issues such as testing and school climate. These students will also be expected to communicate openly with their school systems and communities concerning important education issues. The council is open to all high school students regardless of sex, race, grade level, or academic standing. All past Student Advisory Council members are eligible to reapply for the 2004-05 council.
Applications can be accessed online at www.gadoe.org and are due on or before Sept. 15.
