The South Georgia Regional Library Bookvan will be parked in the Sears wing of the mall. Library staff and volunteers will be ready to issue new library cards and check out books from the time the mall opens at 10 a.m. until closing at 9 p.m. A variety of literature and giveaways will be available.
The visit is being done in conjunction with the Georgia sales tax holidays, an opportunity to buy school clothes and supplies tax-free. It's also a great day to pick up a free library card - good at any of the South Georgia Regional Library System's six member libraries, including Valdosta-Lowndes County, Valdosta's McMullen Southside Library, Salter Hahira Library, Johnston Lakes Library in Lake Park, Allen Statenville Library in Echols County, and Miller Lakeland Library in Lanier County.
