Recently District Attorney Cathy Helms presented The Haven with a donation from Victim’s Funds. “We are grateful for the services you provide to the victims in our Circuit and we support The Haven in their endeavors. Your support for and assistance to victims turns victims into survivors. With crimes as complex as domestic violence and sexual assault, a teamwork approach is most beneficial. This donation helps The Haven help others,” Helms said.

Helms’ Victim Assistance Program serves victims of crime in the Alapaha Judicial Circuit’s five counties: Atkinson, Berrien, Clinch, Cook and Lanier.

The Haven, a non-profit organization, provides 24-hour emergency temporary shelter and services in rural South Georgia for victims of family violence and sexual assault. The Haven provides safe housing, prevention, intervention, advocacy, counseling, support, and follow-up services in a nine-county area.
