VALDOSTA ARMORY OPEN HOUSE: The Valdosta Armory, 2200 Cypress St., will conduct an open house at 10 a.m. The Armory recently underwent major renovations. The ceremony will consist of the posting of colors, a guest speaker and a ribbon-cutting. Also, there will be a weapons display.
COMMUNITY LUNCHEON: A Community Luncheon is at Morningside Baptist Church Dining Hall, 425 Connell Road. The menu is: pork chops, squash, peas, bread, choice of salad, choice of dessert, tea and coffee. Tickets are $4 each and may be purchased at the church office. For information, call 242-1426.
PRIVATE PESTICIDE LICENSE EXAM: The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service-Lowndes County will conduct a class and exam for anyone wishing to acquire a private pesticide license from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lowndes County Civic Center, Hwy. 84 East fairgrounds. Class and exam are free. Preregistration is not required. For information, call 333-5185.
FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK STORE OPENS TUESDAY: The Friends of the Library Back Door Book Store at the Valdosta-Lowndes County Library, 300 Woodrow Wilson Drive, will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today, March 18 and 25. All proceeds benefit the South Georgia Regional libraries. For information, call 333-0086.
STORYTIME AT ALLEN STATENVILLE LIBRARY: Allen Statenville Library offers storytime at 2 p.m. Tuesdays for preschoolers and from 10-11 a.m. Saturdays for older children. The library is located at U.S. 129 and General Deloach Road in Statenville. For information, call 559-8182.
GENEALOGY SEMINARS AT THE LIBRARY: Reference Librarian Sharon Rowe will host a series of seminars in genealogy from 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday through March 25. They include African-American Ancestry: Resources for Retrieving a Rich Heritage, March 11; Maps and Migrations: From Point A to Point B and Points In-Between, March 18; and When You Think You Can't Go Any Further: Getting Around Brick Walls, March 25.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES OF SOUTH GEORGIA: South Georgia Community Service Board d.b.a Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia, providing treatment in the areas of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Addictive Diseases will meet at 2 p.m. at the Cook Service Center in Adel.
