CLINCH COUNTY -- The Clinch County Sheriff's Department and GBI are continuing an investigation into a suspicious death after burned remains were discovered in a vehicle about 10 miles from Homerville.

The car and body were discovered about 7:30 a.m. Oct. 6 on Old Mexico Road off Highway 122. Someone traveling the road spotted the car and alerted the sheriff's department, Russell Mansfield, assistant special agent in charge, GBI, said.

"There is no positive identification on the body at this time," he said.

The remains have been sent to the GBI Moultrie Crime Lab for autopsy. Mansfield said no one has been arrested in connection with the case.
