If you're new to Lowndes County, you'll surely want to take a few minutes today and stop by the Valdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center on Norman Drive.

Between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., more than 60 area companies and firms will be represented at the South Georgia Business Expo. Visitors will learn about the great variety of services and products available, and admission is free.

Exhibitors will include hospitals, phone companies, Realtors and auto dealers. In addition to going home with some free stuff, you'll gain a greater appreciation for the breadth of diversity within our local economy. Businesses range from banks and a theme park to hearing care and health clubs.

With the nearly constant growth of the local economy, visiting the Expo also will provide people who've lived here a long time with a greater knowledge of what's available to them. So we urge them as well as newcomers to visit.

We should acknowledge that The Valdosta Daily Times is one of two grand master sponsors for the Expo. We're participating because we believe in this community as well as the necessity of our product in the lives of residents. So if you want to learn a little more about this newspaper and many other businesses, visit the Expo.
