Southern Circuit District Attorney’s Office is accepting donations of gift cards to give to child-abuse victims who have been placed in foster care.
Southern District Attorney J. David Miller has sponsored the donation drive in previous years and is again asking for gift-card donations in denominations of $20.
The cards will be given to 12- to 17-year-old victims of neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse and those who have witnessed acts of domestic violence who have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care.
“We want to make sure that these children have a Christmas to remember,” said Carla D. Williams, victim services coordinator.
The deadline to make a donation is Wednesday, Dec. 18. Cards can be mailed or delivered to the district attorney’s office on the third floor of the Lowndes County Judicial Complex.
