Colonel Robert H. “Bob” Edmondson is the Commander of the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Center, Dover Air Force Base, Del.
He has global responsibility for all Air Force mortuary matters for current and past conflicts, operates the nation’s sole port mortuary and provides 24/7 global contingency mortuary response teams in support of Air Force and U.S. Northern Command requirements.
The center serves as the single focal point for all mortuary affairs and survivor assistance matters under the Deputy Chief of Staff, Manpower and Personnel, and the Director of Services.
Edmondson was commissioned as a distinguished graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at Valdosta State University. He has previously commanded the services squadron at Osan Air Base, South Korea, and an expeditionary services squadron in Southwest Asia.
He has also served as a deputy group commander at Andrews AFB, Maryland, and Balad AB, Iraq.
Prior to assuming his current command, Edmondson was the Chief of the Air Force Casualty and Mortuary Division.
His parents are Davie and Barbara Edmondson of Valdosta.
