VALDOSTA – Food Truck Thursday is expected to return bigger than before.
Valdosta Main Street sponsors the monthly Downtown Valdosta event at the corner of Lee Street and Central Avenue.
With the success of its debut in June – and expectations to have a big turnout for its return, organizers have doubled the eateries for the followup of Food Truck Thursday scheduled for 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18.
The lineup includes Red Owl, Big Nick’s on Baytree, Sazon Mobile Kitchen, Dad’s Good To Go, Hibachi Highway, Kona Ice, TNT Hot Dogs, Evy’s Lunch, The Foodie King, Southern Cravins, Rico’s Tacos, Deb’s Curbside Cupcakes, The Mix, Blazin’ Hog BBQ and Amaizen Dogs.
To lessen line confusion and make them more accessible, trucks will not line both sides of Lee Street as they did the first go-round, organizers said.
Only one side of Lee Street will have trucks while the other mobile eateries will be placed on the grass next to Lee.
Additions include a water slide, volleyball net, a corn hole board, a sand pile for kids and a bounce house.
Rachel Thrasher, Main Street program coordinator, said Food Truck Thursday is an event for people to come together.
“We just want people to be able to come and enjoy it,” she said.
While tents, tables and chairs will be provided, she encourages people to bring their own chairs.
Goodtime Jr. Music Shed performs during the event.
