Fricker named to University of Georgia president’s list 

ATHENS — In recognition of superior academic accomplishment represented by a 4.0 grade point average for the semester,  Rachel Fricker was named a presidential scholar for Fall 2017.  

To be named a presidential scholar, students must have achieved during the preceding semester a grade point average of 4.00, earned at least 14 hours (9 hours during summer semester) numbered 1000 or higher, and received no unsatisfactory or incomplete grades.

Fricker is a sophomore at the University of Georgia. She is the 20 year old daughter of Edward and Paula Fricker of Valdosta.


Area students named to College of Coastal Georgia Fall 2017 dean’s list

BRUNSWICK— The College of Coastal Georgia Office of the President has announced the students who have earned their place on the dean’s list by their high academic performance. Just 10 percent of students made the Dean’s List for Fall 2017. The students named to the Dean’s List achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 to 3.99 while enrolled as full-time students.

Congratulations to Ajay Bipin Patel and Eryn Elizabeth Young, both from Lowndes County who made the Fall 2017 dean’s list.


Vietas named to Simmons College dean’s list

BOSTON, Mass. —  Cassandra Vietas, Valdosta resident, was named to the 2017 fall semester dean’s list at Simmons College in Boston. Their major is exercise science.

To qualify for dean’s list status, undergraduate students must obtain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, based on 12 or more credit hours of work in classes using the letter grade system.
