Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner and one of downtown’s flagship businesses is trying to give you more than one reason to go dashing through the snow.

Hosting it’s Holiday Open House today, Nov. 9, the Flower Gallery is a 35-year-old business that is no stranger to the South Georgia area. Named as Valdosta’s Best Florist for the last six years, business owner Susan Mullis is upholding the legacy built before her.

“The previous owner, Mack Freeman, has set such a high standard that we are working very adamantly to follow his dream,” Mullis said.

“We are a full service florist with the ability to wire worldwide,” said Mullis. “We carry fresh flowers from Holland, South America and California which allows us to be very artistic while offering fresh arrangements that are of high style.”

There are currently ten employees that make up this team of florists who place customer satisfaction as top priority.

Eight-year business owner, Mullis, currently serves as vice president of the South West Georgia Florist Association, vice president of the Teleflora Unit for the state of Georgia and is also a Georgia Master Florist.

“We work together as a team to better serve the community,” said Mullis. “And to ensure that our customer and community are treated like family.”

Another member of this starting line up is the state of Georgia’s Top Home and Holiday Florist, Gwendolyn Deen, whose expertise is in permanent botanicals and wedding parties. Deen is a third generation florist.

Also, recently joining the Flower Gallery is Jackie Lacey. Lacey, a Hilton Head native with over 20 years of experience whose focus and expertise is on wedding events has provided him the opportunity to participate in coordinating and designing for the hit show, Platinum Weddings, on the WE network. His work has also been featured in “InsideWeddings” and in the Tournament of Roses parade.

The Flower Gallery delivers worldwide to make sure that their services are extended to the greatest amount of consumers.

The Flower Gallery specializes in a variety of options for the customer, supplying to wedding, parties, and providing in-home decorating consultations. The business calendar is quickly filling up as local residents and businesses are requesting to have their homes and offices decorated for the Christmas season.

Preparing customers for the holiday season, The Flower Gallery is offering Holiday consultations. In-home holiday decor consists of trees, mantles, staircases, and outside area set up.

“We inspire each other daily to achieve the professional outcome for our customers,” said Mullis. “This is a very important part of our success.”
