MUSIC - LADY ANTEBELLUM

By Dean Poling

Lady Antebellum is mostly country with a twist of pop and a whole lot of a sound that seems ripe for hits. “Love Don’t Live Here,” the fist single off the group’s self-titled album rose to the Top 5. The second single, “Lookin’ For A Good Time,” shows the lighter side of Lady Antebellum, a catchy tune looking for listeners wanting to have a good time. In addition to solid voices and songs, Lady Antebellum has a mix that seems catchy: two guys and a gal. Lady Antebellum is Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood. Meanwhile, the group is gaining a hot following, via numerous appearances, opening concerts for stars such as Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, and Reba McEntire. The band states this second single reflects the spirit of Lady Antebellum’s live shows. “The vibe of our live show is all about having fun, so this song seemed like the perfect anthem for our summer shows,” Kelley has said. “Plus, Hillary gets to rock out a little harder on this one, and that always makes for a good time.” If you like some country pop, this may be an album to look for.
