— “I noticed that some people in Rant & Rave were unhappy with some characters from Theatre Guild’s “The Foreigner” being with the Ku Klux Klan. I wonder if these same people were so shocked by seeing the Klan members — who were merely characters in a play, not the real thing — that they failed to notice that the Ku Klux Klan were the bad guys. The Klan characters were stupid, superstitious, bigoted and ignorant. Oh, maybe that’s why some people were offended.”
— “Maybe other bars should let The List know who’s playing like Rock ’N Rodeo does.”
— “I noticed that stories on the latest ‘Hulk’ movie, including the one in the View, focus on Stan Lee. Stan Lee did a great deal for comics, but people shouldn’t forget the contributions of Jack Kirby, who created the look for the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and so many other Marvel characters, like Steve Ditko created the look for Spider-Man. Comic books are a visual medium. These artists were as important, if not more so, than Stan Lee for the characters’ success.”
— “Downtown is becoming a great mix of local and visiting music talent. The last First Friday had everything from the local Skannyardle to visiting blues singer Julie Black. A great mix.”
— “What are those big pointy things outside of the arts center?”
— “Glad to see Matt McGee is involved with PSST again. Wish he was on stage though.”
— “Yes, this is Rant and Rave lite.”
