VLPRA offers youth basketball league for elementary, middle-schoolers

VALDOSTA — Registration is happening now for Session II of Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority’s community-wide youth basketball league.

 The league is open to all 2nd, 3rd, 7th, and 8th graders in Valdosta and Lowndes County with separate leagues for boys and girls. The program is recreational, competitive, and guarantees that every participant will play.

 Parents can register their children at the VLPRA Administration Office at 1901 North Forrest Street. in Valdosta or at the Mildred Hunter Community Center at 509 S. Fry Street. Registration is open through Jan. 15.

 Practices start in mid-January, with games from late January through early March. 

Each player’s reversible jersey and shorts are included in the $75 registration fee, which also includes games, practices, and all equipment. Plus, kids can keep their uniforms at the end of the season.

 VLPRA is also looking for volunteer coaches.
