VALDOSTA — Max Preps is one of the only sites where you can find everything you want about high school sports. In a recent release, the website named their Top 15 high school football dynasties in Georgia. The list calculates the top dynasties by using a teams overall record and championship totals beginning in 2003 until the past season.
The list includes five South Georgia football programs that land in the top 15 schools.
With a record of 91 wins and 31 losses since 2003, the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets landed at the number 15 spot on the list. The team has not won a state championship in the last ten years.
The next South Georgia team that made the list is the Colquitt County Packers of Moultrie. The Packers have boasted 71 wins and 50 losses in the last ten years and have not won a state title in that time.
The Valdosta Wildcats come in on the list at number 12. The Wildcats have garnished 74 wins and 44 losses in the ten year span. The Wildcats did not win a championship in the ten year time frame, but did play for a state championship within the period. The Wildcats do however have 23 state championships prior to 2003.
Another team that made the list was the Camden County Wildcats. The Wildcats take a huge leap over the other South Georgia teams making the list with a superb 123 wins and only 13 losses over the decade. The Wildcats have also won three state championships within the span, most notably in 2003 with a victory over the Valdosta WIldcats.
Lastly, the team who nabbed the title as top dynasty over the last decade was the Lowndes Vikings. The Vikings have been able to win 107 games and only lose 21 on their journey as one of the top programs in the state of Georgia. The Vikings have won 3 state titles in the period.
