Pelham pulls off comeback over Berrien

Nashville — The Berrien Rebels looked to have a home game against the Pelham Hornets wrapped up until a second half offensive explosion by the Hornets.

Berrien led Pelham 13-6 after the first quarter and 20-7 at halftime as the Hornets struggled on both sides of the ball.

Whatever Frankie Carroll told his team at halftime worked, the Pelham players came out of the locker room playing like their collective hair was on fire, scoring three touchdowns in the third quarter to take a 28-27 lead into the fourth quarter.

Pelham would score another touchdown, and add two points on the conversion to take a 34-27 lead with five minutes remaining in the game.

Berrien could not score again and Pelham would tack on a field goal to make the final margin 40-27 in the Hornets favor.
