Valdosta store robbed

VALDOSTA — Two men, one white, one black, robbed a convenience store at gunpoint early this morning, according to the Valdosta Police Department.

At 2:42 a.m. today, two men entered the Race Way convenience store, 1408 N. St. Augustine Road. The store clerk said one of the two men carried a handgun. Both men wore hoodies and bandanas over their faces, according to police reports.

One man was white in his early to mid 20s, with a slim build. The other man was black in his early to mid 20s with a medium build.

They demanded money and left the store on foot with an unspecified amount of money. No one was hurt in the robbery, according to police.

A Valdosta Police Department Person’s Crime Unit detective was among the officers arriving at the scene. A Valdosta-Lowndes County Crime Lab crime-scene technician also arrived at the scene.

The robbery was reportedly captured by surveillance cameras in the store.
