National Weather Service issued this warning this morning:
 
Flood Warning in effect until 7:30AM EDT TUE
 
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TALLAHASSEE HAS ISSUED A * FLOOD WARNING FOR... SOUTHEASTERN BROOKS COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA... SOUTHWESTERN LOWNDES COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA... * UNTIL 730 AM EDT TUESDAY * AT 727 AM EDT... THE WITHLACOOCHEE RIVER NEAR QUITMAN WAS AROUND 20.9 FEET. AT THIS LEVEL... MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING ALONG THE RIVER. THE RIVER HAS ALREADY CRESTED AND WILL CONTINUE TO FALL AND MAY DROP BELOW FLOOD STAGE ON TUESDAY MORNING. IMPACTS AT THESE LEVELS ARE LIMITED TO FLOODING OF WOODED RIVER BOTTOMLANDS ALONG THE RIVER BANK... PRIMARILY SOUTH OF U.S. HIGHWAY 84. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... AREAS OF STANDING WATER... OR FLOODING ALONG STREAMS AND RIVERS IS EXPECTED. BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE DANGERS OF FLOODING. MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADS. REMEMBER... TURN AROUND... DON'T DROWN. &&
