Sheriff's deputies conduct undercover operation

VALDOSTA — On Monday afternoon investigators from the Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover operation and arranged for the delivery of the quantity of cocaine. As agreed to, the person, later identified as Bruce Hallman arrived to make the delivery. When the investigators approached Hallman who was seated in his vehicle, he began to drive away and a short chase ensued. During this chase, a passenger in the vehicle with Hallman attempted to exit the vehicle but was unable to due to Hallman’s driving. The passenger made several pleas for Hallman to stop but he ignored. Hallman was eventually stopped and placed under arrest. Investigators recovered approximately $400 worth of cocaine.

Bruce Hallman was transported to the Lowndes County Jail and will appear this afternoon in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court for an arraignment hearing where a bond will be considered.

Sheriff Prine stated that this investigation is on-going and is asking that anyone with information on this case, or any other case may contact the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office at {229} 671-2950 or anonymous tips can be provided at {229} 671-2985 or on line at www.lowndessheriff.com
