Clark promoted to colonel

-- — Anne L. Clark, the daughter of retired Air Force Col. Richard Clark and Jacqueline Clark of Valdosta, was recently promoted to the Air Force rank of colonel.

She is the head of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, dean of the faculty, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. She provides leadership for a 23-person academic department teaching 25 academic courses to approximately 2,000 cadets annually.

Clark also directs an active faculty and cadet research program including the new Academy Center for Unmanned Aerial Systems Research and maintain state-of-the-art lab and test facilities in support of Air Force objectives.

Her experience spans a variety of acquisition, technology, and academic assignments. Clark holds undergraduate degrees in electrical engineering and mathematics from the Air Force Academy, a master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Prior to assuming command of the department, Clark was an Air Force Fellow with the Advanced Satcom Systems and Operations Group at MIT’s Lincoln Lab in Lexington, served as the department’s deputy head, and helped develop radiation-hardened microelectronics as a program manager at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Fort Belvoir, Va.
