State launches voter app

-- — Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp has launched two new technology advances that will serve Georgia voters.  The first is online voter registration, as well as a mobile application that enables voter registration and will have all the capabilities of “My Voter Page.”

Georgia citizens will have to a have a valid Georgia driver's license in order to use the online voter registration system. The application button can be found on the Secretary of State's website at sos.ga.gov.

The “My Voter Page” was launched in March of 2010.  It gave Georgia voters the opportunity to view their specific sample ballot, find their early voting and election day polling locations, check voter registration status and track the status of their absentee ballot.

All of this information is currently available on the Android and Apple platforms. Just search for “GA Votes” in the app store.

It is believed that Georgia is the first state in the nation to offer both online registration as well as an innovative mobile application that also enables voter registration like “My Voter Page”.
