Valdosta Dollar General robbed at gunpoint


On June 16, 2013 at approximately 11:30 pm, an armed robbery occurred at the Dollar General located at 4160 Bemiss Road.  Two employees and a customer were in the store at the time of the incident.  The employees were preparing to close the store for the night when two males entered the store holding handguns.  The employees described the males as African American, tall, thin, with a covering over their face.  The offenders demanded money from the registers and from the safe.  After taking the money, the offenders fled the area without physically harming the employees or customer.  One of the employees called 911 from a cellular telephone.  Valdosta Police Department Patrol, Detectives and Crime Laboratory Personnel responded to the scene and began investigating the case.    The offenders fled on foot from the store in a northeasterly direction away from the store.
