VALDOSTA — The Valdosta-Lowndes County Habitat for Humanity is gearing up for its Birdhouse Auction, which will be held Friday, February 7 at 7 p.m. at the Valdosta Country Club.

This event is held every two years and is the largest fundraiser for the organization.

Molly Roan, Development Director for the Valdosta-Lowndes County Habitat for Humanity, is hopeful for a great turn out this year. “We are really excited about it,” says Roan.

The evening will consist of live and silent auctions. A variety of bird houses and artwork has been provided by Artists on Ashley and other artists from the area. Among some of the other donations up for bid will be a week at a beach house in St. George, a $1,000 shopping spree at Steel's Jewelry, a custom built playhouse/utility shed, a three-course tasting at Steel Magnolias, and a quilt from the Withlacoochee Quilters Guild.

Ticket prices are $15 per person or $25 per couple. All money raised from this event will go directly back into helping this non-profit housing ministry build more houses.
