MOODY AFB — Moody Family Housing, a 381 unit Hunt Military Community located at Moody AFB in Lowndes County, recently completed the new 2,730 sq. ft. Community Center.

An Open Houe and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at the new center from 9 to 10 a.m.on Feb. 4. Base personnel and Moody military residents have been invited to the event.

The community center was renovated at a cost of nearly $58,000 dollars made possible by donations from Taco Bell and the Armed Forces Family Foundation and a contribution from Moody Family Housing. The community center will become the central location for community and resident events and includes a state-of-the-art game room, with a pool table, air hockey table, three 46” TVs, and a deluxe kitchen. The community center also features a large room area to accommodate meetings and resident events.

“This project highlights the importance of a strong partnership in enhancing the quality of life for our Moody Air Force Base residents”, said Steve Norman, Vice President of Hunt’s Military Communities and Moody Family Housing.  “We envision this center being utilized for a variety of community events. All will allow another outlet for our families to mingle and get to know one another better.  We look forward to this facility being widely used for a long time.”
