Ga. attorney sentenced in sexual battery case

The Associated Press

ATLANTA — A metro Atlanta attorney has been sentenced to 30 days of house arrest on sexual battery and public indecency charges.

WSB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/11LggT7) 73-year-old William Hall pleaded guilty to the charges Tuesday and is ordered to pay a fine, serve 24 months of probation and pay for the victim’s counseling.

DeKalb County Solicitor Sherry Boston says one of Hall’s clients came to pick up a child-support check and asked how she could pay for Hall representing her in court. Investigators say Hall proposed having sex, committed a lewd act and touched her inappropriately. The unidentified woman ran from his office and called police.

Hall says the incident was a bad joke that went horribly wrong.

Boston says she’ll recommend the State Bar of Georgia revoke Hall’s license.
