Lowndes schools issue a scam alert

VALDOSTA — On Tuesday morning, Lowndes County Schools announced that they had been made aware of misleading ad solicitation involving the school system.

According to the school system, somone identifying themselves as a Fort Worth, Texas printing company has been contacting businesses and soliciting ads claiming to be on behalf of the Lowndes County School System. The statement reported that the solicitation claimed to be for the purpose of printing football schedules.

"This campaign was launched without the knowledge or consent of Lowndes County Schools, Lowndes High School or our athletic department.  The school nor the school programs will benefit from this campaign," the school system announced.
