Men smash display case, steal $30,000 in jewelry

ATLANTA — Atlanta police say two men smashed a display case at a department store and stole $30,000 worth of jewelry.  

Police spokeswoman Kim Jones tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/15pO683 ) the men walked in to a Belk store at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead Wednesday morning and used hammers to smash the display case.

Jones says the men took five pairs of earrings and fled the scene.

A description of the suspects and additional information on the incident was not immediately available.
