Traffic stop leads to Lowndes meth arrest

VALDOSTA — Lowndes County Sheriff's Office released the following statement this afternoon:

On Monday afternoon, around 5:30 investigators from the Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle being driven by William Daniel Snelgrove on Lakes Boulevard in Lake Park.  During a search of the vehicle investigators located approximately 20 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, approximately .3 grams powder Methamphetamine, digital scales, plastic bags and 2 handguns.  The recovered Methamphetamine has an approximate value of $2,000.  Also during the course of the traffic stop, investigators were given a false name.   

Daniel Snelgrove, 37, of Barney was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail where he was booked on the listed charges: Giving false name, Possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, Possession of tools for the commission of a crime, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

He will appear in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court this afternoon for an arraignment hearing where a bond will be considered.
