NASHVILLE — Family and friends of the victims of a Tuesday morning house fire in Nashville will meet tonight for a candlelight vigil and will be accepting donations for the survivors.

Artoro Garcia, 39, his stepson, Toby Keith Hawkins, 18, and family friend Christopher Rowan, 17, perished in the fire that investigators believe was caused by unattended cooking.

Three others were able to escape the house. Kathy Garcia, 42, and Shay Catlett, 32, sustained smoke inhalation and were transported to South Georgia Medical Center. Jay Hawkins Jr., 20, escaped with no injuries.

Donations have already been made to the family from Nashville area business Walmart and Alco and the Red Cross, according to organizers of tonight’s vigil who will be accepting donations tonight as well.

The vigil will be held at 8 p.m. at 634 Sheppard Avenue in Nashville.
