UPDATE: Two meth incidents in Lowndes County

VALDOSTA — UPDATE 1:30:

A Valdosta Middle School parapro has been placed on administrative leave without pay after being charged with manufacturing meth. Beverly Strong, 49, was arrested by the LCSO Wednesday evening.

Lowndes County Sheriff's Office released two statements this afternoon regarding unrelated meth cases:

— On Wednesday night, investigators from the Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 2980 Mud Swamp Road and during a search of the residence located approximately one thousand {1,000} grams of Methamphetamine oil, which is a product of the Methamphetamine manufacturing process, additional ingredients and the components used to create a Methamphetamine lab and a small quantity of marijuana. Investigators also located approximately five hundred {500} grams of a liquid by-product that will be sent for laboratory testing and identification. Investigators safely dismantled the lab components and removed the items from the residence. During the search, the investigations also located a number of firearms and a motorcycle previously reported as stolen from the City of Valdosta.

Anthony Wright and Stephen Bennett were arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail where they were booked on (related) charges. Additional arrest warrants will be sought for a person who has been connected to the Methamphetamine manufacturing operation. Wright and Bennett will appear in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court this afternoon for an arraignment hearing where a bond will be considered.

— On Wednesday evening, investigators from the Sheriff’s Office went to 601 Georgia Avenue after receiving citizen complaints and met with the resident ... Investigators conducted a search of the residence and located a quantity of Methamphetamine and the ingredients and components used for manufacturing Methamphetamine. The lab components were dismantled and removed from the residence by investigators.

Beverly Strong was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and booked on (related) charges. She will appear in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court this afternoon for an arraignment hearing where a bond will be considered.
