APO hosting blood drive

VALDOSTA — The Sigma Iota chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity will be hosting a blood drive on Monday, Jan. 20 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

“We believe this would be a great service project to go along with the theme ‘A Day ON, Not a Day Off.’  Since we are an organization completely dedicated to service, we are proud to sponsor this event with the American Red Cross," said Marcus Hill, President of the Sigma Iota chapter of the APO Fraternity at Valdosta State University.

The fraternity would like to open this blood drive to the people of Valdosta and Lowndes County. Participants will receive a free T-shirt and a Martin Luther King Jr. Day pin.

The drive will be held at the American Red Cross Valdosta Donor Center located at 2517 Bemiss Road. The drive will be from 10  7 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
