UPDATE: Missing Woman Found

SYLVESTER, Ga. — Twenty-four hours after leaving her home, a missing Valdosta woman was found by Georgia State Patrol in Worth County.

Ailene Duff, 80, reportedly left her home on Wallace Drive at 9 a.m. Monday morning. Family members reported her missing around 3 p.m. that afternoon, telling investigators with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office that Duff had previously become disoriented while driving and got lost but that it was unusual for her not to contact someone, reports stated.

Duff was driving a red Jeep Liberty, and investigators had been tracking her movements through bank card transactions. She bought gas in Madison, Fla. at 4 p.m. Monday and attempted to buy gas in Crawfordville, Fla. at 1 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to Lt. Stryde Jones.

At 9 a.m. Tuesday, a Georgia State Trooper stopped a red Jeep for speeding in Worth County and identified the driver as Duff. She was transported to Phoebe Worth Medical Center for observation but was not injured, reports stated.

Duff’s family were reunited with her in Sylvester.
