Man shot to death outside of Valdosta convenience store

VALDOSTA —  A man was shot to death this evening outside of a Valdosta convenience store, according to the Valdosta Police Department.

At approximately 6:45 p.m. today, the man was shot in the parking lot of Gordon's Food Mart, 209 W. Gordon St., on the corner of Oak and Gordon, said Valdosta Police Chief Brian Childress.

The man's identity has not been released. He was pronounced dead at South Georgia Medical Center, authorities said.

The police chief said investigators have a person of interest in the case, but no arrests have been made.

Childress described the nature of the case as a murder investigation.
