Valdosta man arrested on drug charges

VALDOSTA — From the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office:

On Tuesday afternoon, July 2, 2013 around 3:30, investigators from the Special Operations Division of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and Probation Officers from the Georgia Department of Corrections, Valdosta Probation Office conducted a search of a 400 block Northside Drive, Valdosta, residence.

During the search investigators located approximately 8 grams of cocaine, 21 grams of MDMA, widely known as ecstasy, two handguns, digital scales, hundreds of empty gel caps and packaging materials.

Ronnie Leggett Jr. was arrested and transported to the Lowndes County Jail. He will appear this afternoon for an arraignment hearing where a bond will be considered.

Leggett is charged with Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute; Possession of MDMA with the intent to distribute; Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime; Possession of tools for the commission of a crime, according to the sheriff's office.
